“People need to be cautious because anything built by human can be destroyed by Mother Nature.” – Russel Honore
Climate change is first and foremost an issue because people can’t even agree on whether or not it’s an issue in the first place. Before we even get into the solutions, we all (regardless of political party) need to come to the realization that yes, climate change is real and yes, it is affecting us in ways that we can see and feel. If you still believe that the freakish weather and heat waves we’ve been experiencing have nothing to do with climate change, you might want to ask your neighbor what he or she thinks because the majority of Americans now say they believe global warming is causing these incidents.
You might have noticed that the weather’s been hotter than usual, or you might have noticed a drought in your area or conversely, unusual storms. Furthermore, even small temperature changes are causing crops to die, decreasing the amount of food available. On top of all that, higher temps are causing the polar icecaps to melt, flooding certain areas and leading to an imbalance for wildlife.
“We could have saved the Earth but we were to damned cheap.” – Kurt Vonnegur
Waste disposal- Improper waste disposal creates a hazardous problem to everyone. It may infect people not only physically but through the air and water. Garbage thrown in the rivers and canals may not only block our waterways but it invites rodents to infect the water and soon be transferred to humans. Clogged waterways have a tendency to spill causing flash floods, which is what is happening here in our country. Likewise, the lack of enough dumpsites and landfills is also a hindrance in helping to solve our garbage management crisis.
“Environmental pollution is an incurable disease. It can only be prevented.” – Barry Commoner
From desertification to polar ice melting to erosion and deforestation, existing land management choices are not serving the planet or its inhabitants very well. The 1990s saw some headway with forest management but the Bush administration’s various initiatives (most notoriously, “Healthy Forests”) have set back progress by decades. There is very little land left that is undeveloped, either with structures or roads. And there is virtually no land left that is not subject to light or noise pollution. The modern green movement believes that in order to create a sustainable future, people will need to return to the conservation spirit Americans were once famous for. That’s a value system that includes meaning, adventure, and self-sufficiency – no wonder so many people are getting inspired.

“Within 10 years, it will be possible to travel the North Pole by the Dog Team. There will be too much water.” – Will Steger
In the US alone we’ve made the Gulf of Mexico toxic with oil, we’ve caused earthquakes in the midwest whilefrackingfor natural gas, and we’ve blasted the tops off mountains in Virginia looking for coal. In the course of turning non-renewable resources into energy we’re releasing all manner of toxic gases into the atmosphere, driving climate change and creating a hazardous environment for all living beings.
“A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.”- Franklin D. Roosevelt
Solutions to Environmental Problems (STEP) courses bring together students, faculty, staff and community partners in discussion and action to advance sustainability. STEP courses educate students about environmental problems through an interdisciplinary approach and foster leadership values, skills and abilities by engaging students in collective, solution-oriented project.
As a student and as a member of this country, i will encourage the youth to help with me build and create an organization about the “Helping Hand” for the environment. I’ll maximize my effort to explain to them the alarming situation of our environment. I’ll spread some flyers that tells what should we do to prevent the different kinds of problems. And as we go on in protecting our environment, we can achieve the goal to polish the wound of our environment. But then, let’s take first move by our own self because we already know what is right or wrong. Students who also belong to the group of environmental organization should also move and let the people know what is the plan for it. Nevertheless, our instinct will rightly choose the decision to help our environment. Let’s minimize the use of plastics, cans, cutting trees without replacing it, deforestation, throwing garbage in rivers and burning chemicals. Let’s try to use it properly and know what is the cause and effect to this in our environment. And of course, let’s be responsible for our decisions before going to act.
“Keep close to nature’s heart…. and break clear away, once in a while and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.” – John Muir
The environment that we live in and make use of is being stripped off its precious components day by day. There are many angles from which the problem of environmental problem can be studied. Similarly, many different views come in to play if we need to find practical solutions to these problems. There are innumerable factors associated with conservation of environment and also these problems are interrelated. The activities as well as the lifestyle of human beings too play an important role in how the surroundings/environment is affected. Till date, it is one of the major factor that has affected the environment of the Earth as it is in constant conflict with it.
See? Let’s take a look in the picture. Do you even wonder? Of course, yes. Come to think of it. Without the environment, are we able to to survive in this moving and rolling changes of the universe? Well we cannot live without that. The reason why God created our home because He wanted us to help Him to build it in its perfect shape. And of course, He wanted us to take this responsibility to because He know that we have the powers to bloom it in its beautiful identity. So we people who is a follower of God should take this responsibility and make everyone involve in this. As we look forward to change the wrong actions of people, let’s just continue to help and make this environment perfect.
